Adding a Referring Provider in Practice Mate and EHR 24/7

The Referring Provider list in Practice Mate and EHR 24/7 is used for three types of Providers: Referring, Supervising, and Ordering Providers.  If you need to add a new Provider for use in any related workflow, you can do so through the Manage Office tab in either Practice Mate or EHR 24/7.  

Referring Providers can be imported using the Data Import Wizard – but unless there is a large number needing to be added, manually adding the Providers may be faster than formatting and uploading a .csv file.

Steps to Add a Referring Provider:

1. Log in to Practice Mate or EHR.  

2. Navigate to the Manage Office tab.

3. Under List Maintenance, click Referring Providers.  

4. Click Add New.  

5. Enter the First Name and Last Name. All other fields, including Individual NPI, are technically optional but may be necessary for certain actions like prescribing medications.

6. Click Update to save.  

Tip: Ensure all required fields are completed accurately before clicking Update, so the referring provider information is saved successfully.
