Adding Visit Reasons

You can create, edit, and manage Reason for Visit entries in Practice Mate and EHR 24/7 through the Manage Office settings.  You can associate a default appointment length and color with each individual Reason for Visit to help your team be more efficient and consistent when scheduling appointments.

Adding a Reason for Visit

  1. Log in to Practice Mate or EHR 24/7.  
  1. Navigate to the Manage Office tab.
  1. Under List Maintenance, click Reason for Visit.  
  1. In the Reason for Visit field, enter the Reason for Visit entry you want to add.
  1. Click the << Add button to add it to your Current Entries list.

Editing Existing Reasons

  1. Check the box next to the Current Entry you want to edit.  
  1. Click Edit on the far-right side of the Current Entries list.
  1. Update the Name, Default Visit Length, and Default Color Code as needed.
  1. Click Update to save the changes you made.

Clearing Visit Length and Color Code

  1. Check the box next to the Current Entry you want to clear.
  1. Click Clear on the far-right side to remove both the Visit Length and Color Code settings for that entry.

Deleting a Reason for Visit

  1. Check the box next to the Current Entry you want to delete.
  1. Click the Remove >> button to delete the selected entry.

Once saved, you can select Visit Reasons through the Add Appointment page by either typing the Visit Reason directly into the text field, or by clicking the Ellipsis icon to open the full Visit Reason list and select from there.  Once selected, the Visit Length and Color fields will be updated accordingly, although they can be edited afterwards.
