Supervising Physician NPI Format

Rejection: Invalid Supervising Physician NPI Format (RC83)

What happened: An NPI was sent that did not fit the format of 10 digits in additional fields section under box 25.

Resolution: The number of digits may look correct on the claim image, so check the billing software to verify the NPI that was sent out. If needed, update software and resubmit.
